In February 2007 we opened the Enclosure Climbing Center in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The response was overwhelming. Within a few months we had over 700 members and were averaging over 150 visitors per day. Business was great! Unfortunately, the “health club” software we purchased was dreadfully inadequate for running a climbing gym! Climbing gyms are not health clubs, and trying to operate a climbing gym with health club software was costing us time and money. Thousands of dollars were being wasted each month on staff training, data entry mistakes, and poor work flow. This was all a direct result of running software not designed specifically for the unique needs of a climbing gym.
With over 20 years of software product development experience prior to opening a climbing gym, the solution was clear - build our own software! And we did! Now our climbing gym operates unbelievably smoothly. No more tripping over software not designed for our needs. Staff training on the system is minimal. There are virtually no data entry mistakes. Customers are processed quickly and seamlessly. Paperwork and busy work has been dramatically reduced. By our estimates, we’re saving nearly $2,000-$4,000 per month because of reduced training, fewer mistakes, and less effort required to get tasks done.
