If there was someway to have the last checkin (from the POS station not the dedicated checkin station) to be loaded into the POS program as the current customer that would make for a much more streamlined flow at the POS station. Currently we check the person in to ensure they have a waiver, then alt-tab over to the POS program and then have to select that customer from recent checkins. I know it doesn't take all that long but having to do those extra taps and wait those extra seconds for ever day pass we sell takes its toll on our flow.

Hello Luis,
RGP recommends accepting the waiver when the person is in front of you, for various legal reason.
If you feel comfortable checking in people ahead of time you can uncheck the auto Create NEW checkins for new customers box in: Data Entry-settings-manage-customer tab -under Check In
What is the name of your facility?
Thank you,

Is it possible to process a online waiver into RGP without it automatically checking that person in?

As of right now it does check that person in. Could you implement the button to give the option to check this person in or not?

We are getting a lot of waivers for birthday parties and lock-ins that we would like to process and get into RGP but when we do that prior to the day of the event it automatically checks that person in.

Thanks,

Hello Abby,
First question, have you set up your facility with ACHWorks? This is the first step to process billing with a checking or savings account. If you go to: Data Entry->Settings->Manage-Click on the Payments and Billing Tab. Here you will see it has a box next to Billing ACH/Draft, if the drop down box has ACHWorks?T$$ and a configure box next to it, then you are setup with ACHWorks.
If not, click on the yellow button that says: Click here for information on the Payment Gateways.

There is a video tutorial on the Rock Gym Pro (RGP) web page on how to setup ACH, as well as many other informative videos: http://rgp_videostorage.s3.amazonaws.com/videos/ACHBilling/ACHBilling.htm

If you are setup with ACHWorks, then yes you do need to go into billing and click download ACH responses to have the funds downloaded. You do need to manually click edit, this leads to believe you are not setup with ACHWorks.

What is the name of your facility?

Thank you,

i've been trying to figure out how to process a bank draft with a voided check, can anyone help?
I've typed in all the routing.account info and went to process billing, says its 2 steps, but now states "You have ACH events that have not been transmitted/submitted, go to the billing events tab and complete the events."
When i go to the billing events tab, it highlights the transaction in red, and even when i 'edit' and change it to completed, it stays red.... What do i need to do? cant seemed to find the process on how to complete ACH payments anywhere...
Thanks

Also, do i have to periodically check back here for a response to this feed? Or will i be emailed once an answer has been submitted?

Thanks again,

Hi Kenneth,

In theory email capabilities are the next big item on my todo list... the problem is all the small items that crop up! :)

I will say that I do not intend to offer newsletter capabilities, just transactional emails. I do intend to integrate mailing list syncing capabilities with both ConstantContact and MailChimp - so provided you stay with those services you should be good to go.

Hope this provides some guidance.....

We are trying to set up RGP at our gym. We have a thermal receipt printer "SPRT" model: POS58IVU. I'm trying to print a test receipt and nothing happens. I try to set up our regular printer as a default printer on RGP and that one doesn't work either. Both printers are fully functional through other software. Also, when I try to print through RGP, the print file gets stuck in the queue and I am unable to delete it. I have to restart the computer. Please help...Thanks

Hi -

Accelerated Payments IS XCharge. And yes, the credit card processors (the overlords above Accelerated Payments) are forcing PCI compliance down everyone's throat. The good news is RGP solves your PCI compliance issue with regards to software, but you still need to follow the procedures required for PCI compliance in your business - examples include not writing down credit card numbers, etc.

Typically this involves a periodic internet scan of your IP address and completing a quarterly questionnaire.

Accelerated Payments can help with this so yes, you should contact them.

Thanks for the response. The reason I was interested in adding the recheck certification level for rechecks is that it would make it impossible to have someone who was both a recheck and belay certified. While I'm sure you'll say, "train your staff better", and that is by no means an unfair response, it's an issue we've struggled with for a long time and no amount of reminding/training/correcting has eliminated it so I was hoping to attack it from the other side. As for the lead certification, we do treat "lead climb" as both so it is those rare cases I'm talking about. I'll look into adding a custom policy for that issue.

Thanks again.

I won't be modifying the certification list, as too many gyms depend on the existing list and changing it would confuse their staff. In the RGP world, "Lead Climb" means "Lead Belay and Lead Climb". I'd recommend adding an additional policy that says "Cannot Lead Belay" in these probably rare cases.

You can also use an additional policy for Recheck. Just create a policy called Recheck.

Hey Andy,

Like many other rock gyms, we have a "recheck" or "retest" certification level that indicated the customer in question can belay for the day but must take the test again on their next visit. Is there any way you could add a recheck or retest certification level to the list? Right now, we enter notes specifying someone is a recheck. However, if the note isn't deleted, a customer can be both belay certified and a recheck. If that's possible, could you also add a lead climb + belay certification level. We allow people to be lead climb certified without being lead belay certified if they aren't going to lead belay and we have to use notes to make that distinction as well. Let me know what you think.

TheLacticFactory on "Expiring concessions?"

OK, I think there has been a little confusion over my use of the word 'concession'.

I have been using it in the Australian context where 'giving a concession' means that you allow them to do or pay less than is required of the general public. So in my gym I allow low income earners, students, children under 15 and members of the local climbing clubs in at a discounted (or concession) rate.

henryZ seems to be using it in a different context - where concession is something that is added to an entry such as food.

At any rate, using the 'Alert on Date' function on Notes as suggested by Clay is a little slow in its execution but has been working great for the last year.
Yet again - RPG for the win!

You can easily add a question on the waiver about "where did you here about us" with multiple choice and assign it to the SOURCE target which will come in as a tag.

Create an additional new waiver (design mode only so it doesn't effect your live waiver) and the default waiver has this setup and you can see how it is done.

Then add the same thing to your existing waiver.

Hey Andy,

Shortly we're going to begin experimenting with different advertising methods and we'd love to use the tags system in RGP to track the effect each method has. Is there any way to have a tag query or a multiple choice "how did you hear about us?" pop up on the waiver stations before the customer is able to fill out the waiver? It seems like that would be the best way for us to find out how nearly 100% of our new customers have heard about the gym.

I am having issues connecting to my database with 1 of my 5 machines. Every other computer has connected fine, but this one keeps kicking back a "Cannot Connect" error when I try to do the initial Rock Gym Pro Configuration. My UN and PW are both correct, and I know my server is fine as it works with all the other machines. I have also added a port 3306 exception and still no luck.

Suggestions?

We do not have the system set up to print from the gym so everyone has been printing it "online" but from our gym. So they are printed by customers but from our gym. But we are working on that.

What I mean by printing incorrectly is that the majority of them will start printing correctly but after the line that reads "HEREBY DO RELEASE..." everything comes out in some unreadable computer language. Like stuff I don't have the knowledge to type. That's the best way I can put it without showing you a picture of it.

When you say "the waivers keep printing incorrectly", what do you mean? In looking at the logs, it seems your customers are bringing in the online print and sign waivers without problems.

Are you referring to waivers YOU are printing within the gym? Or waivers customers are bringing in?

If waivers printing within the gym, where and how are you printing them?

Hey Andy,
We have just started using your system and its a nice change. One thing is that the waivers keep printing incorrectly. About half way down the page it goes to some computer code (or Russian), do you have some solution to fix it? It would really save us paper and ink.
Thanks a lot!

I just pulled it up in 3 seconds at the Enclosure, so (if yours is slow now) it means it is most likely not a performance problem with XCharge.

If I had to guess, your network provider/ISP is having latency issues to certain portions of the internet at certain times of the day. Unfortunately, these are notoriously difficult for ISPs to correct because they will claim "there isn't a problem!"

The end-point is
integrator.t3secure.net
. Your ISP should be able to do a traceroute when it is slow and find the bottleneck. I just did a traceroute and it looked normal for my network.

Another possibility is that something is hogging all your bandwidth (perhaps a large backup, etc.) during the slow times.
